Arizona Ranked Among Lowest for Traffic Safety Laws - Again

(Whitney Ogden, Cronkite News Service) WASHINGTON - Arizona continues to fall “dangerously behind” in adopting key traffic and vehicle safety laws, according to a national report released Wednesday.

Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety rated states on their adoption of 15 road-safety laws, and Arizona was one of 11 states in the “dangerous” zone for their lack of “key” safety laws. The report said Arizona lacks nine of the 15 laws, including an all-rider motorcycle helmet law and primary enforcement for seatbelt use.
