Crackdown on Animal Massage Therapists

(Melody Birkett, KFYI News) -- Several massage therapists are suing, saying it's not fair the veterinary board is making them obtain a veterinary license in order to massage animals for compensation.

Their argument? Vet school costs hundreds of thousands of dollars and don't even teach massage.

Attorney Diana Simpson from the Institute for Justice says practitioners who don't comply face up to six months in jail and a $3,500 fine per violation.  A judge is deciding on whether the lawsuit should be dismissed or not.
