(Cleveland, OH) -- Children seem to be a priority this year in holiday shopping, which many Americans are hoping to complete on a tighter budget.
A third of the respondents in a new Forest City Enterprises poll say they'll be buying kids' clothes this holiday season, while 29-percent will be purchasing children's accessories and 27-percent will be shopping for toys.
Meanwhile, 38-percent expect to spend less money this year on fine jewelry and mobile phones, and 33-percent won't be spending as much as they did last year on seasonal decorations. In addition, 23-percent anticipate buying more "value brands" this year, and a third say they'll be spending less on "luxury brands."
Conversely, just 12-percent expect to put more money into "luxury brands," and only eleven-percent say they'll be purchasing fewer "value brand" items.
