(Detroit, MI) -- General Motors is adding close to one-million cars to its recall due to faulty ignition switches.
The recall has been expanded to include versions of the Chevrolet Cobalt and HHR, and Pontiac G5, Solstice and Sky made during model years 2008 to 2011.
Older versions of those cars, along with the Saturn Ion, were recalled in February.
This brings the number of total cars recalled to more than 2.5 million. The recall has sparked government investigations as to why it took GM so long to address the issue, which was first noticed in 2001.
