(Tel Aviv, Israel) -- It may soon only take about 30 seconds to charge up your smartphone.
The Israeli start-up StoreDot made that claim Monday in unveiling its prototype charger at Microsoft's Think Next event in Tel Aviv.
StoreDot says it has developed semiconductors made from organic compounds which make the speedy charging time possible. The downside? The device could cost twice as much as an average phone charger. Commercial production is slated for late 2016.
