Google is ready to drop a cool billion to acquire gamer website Twitch.
Sources close to negotiations tell "Variety" the privately-held video game streaming service will become part of the YouTube unit. Twitch was founded in San Francisco in 2011 and allows gamers to upload videos of their gameplay.
The website attracts more than 45-million monthly users. The deal will bring twitch more than $1 billion.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Twitch has 1.8% of peak internet traffic in the U.S. They rank fourth after Netflix, Apple and Google.
Twitch reportedly fielded buyout offers from Microsoft and other companies.
