My Military Hero Mustang Giveaway

  •
Over the past year, KFYI and Sanderson Ford have recognized 12 active military members in the My Military Hero program.
  •
Each finalist received recognition on a billboard near their family's neighborhood, courtesy of Clear Channel Outdoor, and a chance to win a 2011 Ford Mustang GT!
  •
KFYI's Mike Broomhead broadcasted live from the My Military Hero Finale at Sanderson Ford.
  •
One lucky military hero, and his family, will soon be driving around Phoenix in this car!
  •
The great folks at The Tiny Soldier have supported this program from the beginning.
  •
Hunter from the Tillman Foundation joined Mike Broomhead on the broadcast.
  •
The Tillman Foundation provides scholarships every year for students who embody everything that Pat Tillman stood for.
  •
At 6:00 PM, crowds gathered for the Mustang giveaway.
  •
FOX Newsradio 550 KFYI's Jim Sharpe read the story of each of our finalists before they came to the podium to select a key.
  •
Since many of our finalists are still stationed on active duty around the world, their families represented them to try to win the car.
  •
Sgt. Shawn Cunningham was able to be there in person, and chose his key with his young son.
  •
All of our finalists and representatives lined up with Jim before trying to win...
  •
    ...This car!
  •
Greg Maxon, father of Captain Brad Maxon, was the first to try his key...but no luck.
  •
SPC Richard Pico was the third to try, but again the car wouldn't start. Great face, though!
  •
Up next was Lance Corporal Garrett Zeigler's mom, Karen Gladstone, who couldn't the the engine to start, either.
  •
But finally Olivia Ross, the daughter of Chief Warrant Officer Donald Ross, heard the Mustang's engine roar when she turned the key!
  •
Jim was right their to get Olivia's reaction.
  •
Plus, KFYI's web team was quick to interview our winner. You'll see their video on KFYI.com soon.
  •
Olivia immediately called her dad to let him know that he had won!
  •
Olivia smiles in her family's new car, but all of our finalists walked away with a $200 MasterCard Gift Card courtesy of TruWest Credit Union and Sanderson Ford.
